Variable speed motor controllers regulate the speed and/or torque of asynchronous motors. Depending on the application, there are controllers from a few hundred Watts up to several hundred Kilowatts.
Figure 1. The chart shows energy savings achieved by Refrigeration Service Co. with use of a variable-speed controller. EDITOR’S NOTE: This material was prepared by Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration.
Model VSM-CA3 modulates the speed of motors in fancoil units, fan-powered VAV terminal units, fan filter units, and other air-moving devices. The controller provides modulating control of AC induction ...
Speed, torque, and horsepower are three inter-related parameters in motor control. The speed of a motor, measured in revolutions per minute (rpm), defines a motor's ability to spin at a rate per unit ...
Variable speed drives (VSDs), sometimes also known as variable frequency drives, are electronic devices used to regulate the speed of an ac induction motor. Electric motors consume approximately 25% ...
Motors are driving demand for electricity, accounting for about half of the electricity we consume, according to the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Many of these motors are found throughout ...
First note - I am a completely new to water cooling, this is the first build I've done. With GPU prices the way they are, I decided to try for an overclock vs a new GPU. Things are working well, and I ...
It is interesting to look at figures from the Energy Information Administration about where energy gets consumed in our economy. These figures reveal that industrial uses account for 31% of all energy ...
