August 22, 1941 marks the graduation of the first Navy Mine Disposal Class in 1941, which founded the EOD Community. Happy 84th Birthday EOD! The 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives (CBRNE) Command, the U.S. military’s premier multifunctional and deployable CBRNE formation, is home to the majority of the U.S. Army’s active-duty Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians. Our incredible Mine Detection Dogs are hard at work training with carousel equipment! Only one of the containers holds a small piece of explosive, and it’s up to the dog to sniff it out and signal the find.
