After Syracuse China closed, their unfinished (unglazed) china was left in fields near their factory. There were tens of thousands of plates, bowls and cups stamped with the Syracuse China name. In 2014, community members were encouraged to come take it, $10 per car load. The china was to be used for arts and crafts or some other purpose besides dinnerware.
