The sound of a class 69 locomotive with an EMD engine fitted. This one is operated by GB Railfreight and was at Derby station pulling a Network Rail train. This locomotive has basically the same engine as the class 66 locomotives. The class 66s were imported into the UK from Canada and the US. But the class 69s are actually upcycled old class 56 locomotives , built in the late 1970s, and re-engined in the 2020s. Good for another few decades! | Adrian Watson
